Skylights and Whirlybirds South Auckland – More Light, Better Airflow
NZ Metal Roofing installs skylights and whirlybirds across Manukau, Papatoetoe, Manurewa, Papakura, Takanini and across the south.
Skylights bring natural light into dark rooms, and whirlybirds help move heat and moisture out of the roof space. Both need to be flashed properly so they don’t leak.

New skylights
Skylights cut in and fitted with back trays and flashings to suit your roof profile. See our skylights page for recent work.
Leaking skylights
Failed flashings and back trays around old skylights re-done properly.
Whirlybirds
Whirlybirds installed and flashed to help reduce heat and condensation in the roof space. See our whirlybird page.
Local conditions in South Auckland
More open areas in the south catch a lot of wind, so fixings, ridges and flashings need to be done properly. Lighter metal also takes a lot of weight off older framing compared with concrete tiles.
During a re-roof
The best time to add skylights or whirlybirds is during a re-roof. See our re-roofing South Auckland page.
