Roof leaks
Most leaks don’t come from the roof sheet itself. They come from flashings, screws, skylights, flues or channels blocked with lichen and debris. Water can travel a long way before it shows up as a stain on the ceiling.
We trace the water back to where it’s actually getting in, then fix the cause – not just the spot where it drips.
Rust and corroded roof sheets
Rust usually starts at laps, fixings and areas that hold water. We cut out and replace rusted sheets, sections and fixings with new COLORSTEEL® or Zincalume, matched as closely as possible to your existing roof.
If the rust is widespread, we’ll tell you honestly whether a repair still makes sense or whether a re-roof is the better long-term option.
Flashings, ridges and barges
Loose, lifted or badly fitted flashings are one of the most common causes of leaks and wind noise. We refix what can be saved and replace the rest with new custom-folded flashings, lapped and sealed properly.
Skylights, flues and other penetrations
Anything that goes through the roof is a weak point. We re-flash skylights, flues, vents and pipes with new back trays and over-flashings, fixed on the rib crests and sealed so water runs over and away.
Popped nails, loose screws and lifting sheets
Older roofs often have nails that have worked loose, letting water in and sheets lift in the wind. We replace them with roofing screws and new seals, and re-secure any lifting sheets.
Storm and wind damage
After a big storm we can come out, make the roof safe and carry out the repair. We take photos and give you a written report, which helps if you’re making an insurance claim.
Spouting and downpipes
Blocked, sagging or leaking spouting can push water back under the roof and into the fascia. We clear, repair or replace spouting and downpipes as part of the job when needed.
